LU (12-10, 6-5) Ranked 119th
AU (5-17, 2-9) Ranked 318th
LUL wins by 9 (73-64)
Sitting in a tie for 4th (actually 5th place overall based on a tie-breaking scenario) with Loyola and Holy Cross, the best we can hope for over the coming couple of days is that we get by AU today and hope that AWP beats Loyola and that Bucky tops HC in their game 11 matchups. Hey, we then sit in 4th all by ourselves with six games remaining on the schedule. And here’s the good news (I know I’m reaching for something nice to say), four of our last six will be at home with the only real road trip – that being to HC on Sunday, 2/12.
Playoffs begin 2/28 for the lucky 9th and 10th seeded teams.
I attended the game; Lehigh is now 3-0 this year (all road games, and all double-digit wins) when I’m at the game in person. I think the key to the game was the Mountain Hawks’ improved defensive effort through much of the 2nd half. The scoreboard won’t show it, but they really picked up the D in the latter stanza. Lehigh also seemed to attack the basket more in the 2nd half, which also helped.
