Rumor Mitchell, Short and Duffy
How can you have two fifth year seniors??
#52 is ok- player- I read a lot of props for this guy- he is tooooo small and if he gets doubled team gets blown 10 yards back- he is ok- but not a captain – he isn’t even a seniorAugust 24, 2017 at 11:45 pm #31738
what about MISH PELLITIER OR CASEY????? or cavnas

Mitchell is also a 5th year senior and is #50. Short and Duffy were captains last year. I don’t think the captains have been formally announced yet but they are usually chosen after the last scrimmage which they just had.August 25, 2017 at 11:35 am #31740
guys that are willing to stay for a 5th year, seems like the kind of commitment you would want in a captainAugust 25, 2017 at 12:48 pm #31741
I got his number wrong #50 has played four year
#50 facts total 31 total tackles and I continually see his name all over the articles
nice kid — but we need winners!!!!!!!!!!!
Harrison – Julian- Juan- #52 – are better and never mentioned
makes me wonder WHY THEY DO NOT GET ANY PROPS??????????
#50 as a coach is probably the 4th or 5th best DL
My coach always told me FILM DONT LIE!!!
also- how is #3 not a captain?????August 25, 2017 at 1:59 pm #31742
I have no idea who the captains are nor how they are chosen. What I’m pretty sure of though is that captains are chosen to be the extension of the coaches. They are chosen not necessarily by statistics but by how they command the locker room and the respect given to them by their team mates and not necessarily the fans.
I respect their decision and look forward to an exciting season.August 25, 2017 at 2:24 pm #31743
OO- agreed. Harrison J, Julian, Juwon, and Harrison K probably won’t ever get props. They’re quiet kids who do their job on the field, watch the films you’ll see. One was originally rostered as a LB. (Kauffman or juwon) wonder what happened with that?
Cavenas not in the mix for captain?? IMO you shouldn’t have more than one, if any, fifth year captains.

Captains are voted by seniors. Biuching about who wasnt elected is asinine. These are the 4 the players picked. Dont see anything wrong with their picks. McCloskey is 1st jr since Sedale. Clearly well respected by teammate s.
Interesting only LBs Andy noted were Woetzel and Seighmann 2 sophs and 2 frosh Hafner and Norris.
Looks like Evans in the 2 deep at OG. Very unusual for a frosh.August 25, 2017 at 10:57 pm #31749

Sorrymy typo. Meant players. A semior momentAugust 26, 2017 at 4:58 am #31751
OO’s kidding, right?
Stats and leadership often are not connected.
I don’t know any of the captains, or anyone else on the team. I was impressed with their comments and demeanor in the LU video announcing them.
As you know, I’ve been critical of coaching in past, but nitpicking on captaincies (especially when two are returning) seems the least of anyone’s worries.August 26, 2017 at 12:02 pm #31752
you just have to get used to OO’s petty issuesAugust 26, 2017 at 8:56 pm #31756
ITs NOT ABOUT CAPTAINS
I WANTED TO MAKE A POINT ABOUT OTHER PLAYERS NOT GETTING THEIR PROPS
ESPECIALLY OTHER DEFENSEIVE LINEMAN- WHO ARE MUCH BETTER PLAYERS
JULIAN LYNN, HARRSION, AND JUAN
PLUS THE 4 CAPTAINS DONT REFLECT THE MAKE UP OF THE TEAM
JUST WONDERING???August 26, 2017 at 9:01 pm #31757
The staff puts the seniors on the ballot. Players can write in their own choices. The fact that they choose this 4 does not mean that the others arent getting their props. You’re gonna see all of them on the 2 deep. Morrow originally a LB. As Andy does often he moves athletic kids forward. He lost last year to injury as did Prendergast. Expect both will see ample PT this year.
