Admit I am not really a lacrosse fan but PL is becoming a top conference in the sport and LU with Cassesse has increased its emphasis on M & W squads. I know M’s squad mostly fr and soph but HC must be pulling his hair out with all the close losses to top 20 teams. Guess whatever does’nt kill you makes you stronger.

Time for Lehigh to make some noise in this sport. We’ve been ‘nibbling’ at the edges for a few years now. Everyone seems impressed with Cassesse and he seems to be liked by the players and is getting decent recruits. If Lehigh doesn’t make a rush toward the PL championship this year, what more is needed? What does Bucknell do that we don’t? It’s about time we start challenging these guys.

Bucknell has NO scholarship players on its lax roster.

Surprised,I thought that Bucknell had expanded schollies in nonfootball sports

BU started a pilot program very recently where a few sports including men’s lax are getting a very small amount of scholarship dollars (less than one equivalency). The amount is so small that at best it can be a tiebreaker in certain cases when added to need-based aid.
However the first beneficiaries of this program will not be enrolled until next year, so it has not been a factor in BU’s success in lax. Come back in three years and it may have a little bit of influence. Hopefully the program will be expanded.

Great success for a non scholardship sport. Hope Cassesse can do the same for us

I’ve never known if LU has lax scholarships. Someone on the HC board claims that they have had them for awhile, but I had never seen any info either way.

Nor have I, I can verify that LU has substantially increased funding for M and W lax as well as FH. Whether that includes any merit aid I do not know
