Pitt has tons of available scholarships due to 5 transfers and several decommitments. They were desperate to add players, and a graduate student with one year of eligibility doesn’t tie up scholarships to use for the class of 2018. Boykins in nowhere close to an ACC-level player, but he at least gives them a warm body at no cost to the program since they had scholarships that weren’t going to be used this year.
