Has anyone been to any spring practices???? How the D look??? Who has been standing out???? Who looks prime for a breakout year????? Havent been keeping up really. How about the changes ive been reading about, good or bad??????March 31, 2017 at 5:43 pm #31058
I think changes for Nick T and Raye Redmond are positives for each of them, 4-2-5 D should help with pass rush now that we have some depth at DT, not sure if it helps with run D though, guess it depends on safeties coming up fastApril 3, 2017 at 12:15 am #31066

Seems to be a really quiet spring relative to recent ones. Is that a product of success? Anything of note happening?April 9, 2017 at 8:36 pm #31098
Puff pieces from LU. LV guys letting us down so far Need some eyewitness info. Player Dads very quiet also.
Lots of prospects in for Junior visits which seems to be going very well.April 11, 2017 at 1:24 am #31105
I was at live scrimmage on Saturday
1st offense looked pretty good
#12 on defense looked good
#32 ran well
#3 had a very good catch
they are running a 4 man front on defense
it seemed the coaches were looking at 2nd and 3rd teams-
overall good scrim
NO FIGHTS this time! or injuries
there were probably about 4-5 recruits on hand watching the scrimmageApril 11, 2017 at 1:31 am #31106
Thanks oo. Much appreciated.April 23, 2017 at 12:23 am #31188

How did the team look during the spring game?
Mayes look in sync and slimmer?
DL hold their own again an experienced OL?
Any type of rotation set at LB?
How did the new defensive scheme fair against the first team offense?April 23, 2017 at 2:03 am #31189
according to Coen, Mayes has slimmed down and looked more agile
not sure how many OL starters were in, but DL got kudos for pass rush, no tackling so hard to know about run stoppers
Cam Richardson seemed to make a case for the slot receiver
heard nothing about LBsApril 23, 2017 at 2:21 am #31190
LBs were inconsistent and need work per Andy. DL impressed fans and coaches. Richardson impressed. With him and Christiano Slot will be covered A healthy Sasha will play somewhere. Neat problems to have. Still wish we streamed today.April 23, 2017 at 2:24 pm #31191
Top takeaway for me. Brad is staying on campus for the summer.April 23, 2017 at 3:37 pm #31193
Any sense about what, if any, changes we might expect to see from the new offensive and defensive coordinators other than the change to a 4,2,5 defensive alignment?

Not much evident on O to indicate any major change in schemes.
D will be quite different. Our base is now a 4-2 but doesnt seem that Sutyak is locked into that set for every down.April 23, 2017 at 10:34 pm #31201
I’d like to see the tight ends get more involved in the offense. That’s an extra weapon that we haven’t really taken advantage of the last few years.
