Do we know for a fact that he was the Leader of the Pack? I thought I saw elsewhere on this site that Ayres was the heavy. If so, maybe it didn't go over well.

Re: Freestyle season

Even with their disappointing showing at the Nationals, LU was the top finisher among private universities. And only Stanford among the privates finished on a comparable level.

Re: Transfer portal

Last year's roster shows Herceg with soph eligibility. Do we know he's not coming back? He could probably make 165. Don't think Mays will garner much interest. He may stay if he's welcome. Otherwise, there may not be a young guy with sufficient potential, so you might have to dig deeper than #20. As...

Re: Transfer portal

When you've got young guys with potential at the weight, absent unusual circumstances I don't think you should recruit guys unless they're ranked at least #15-20.

Kyle Mosher from Columbia also -- maybe we pick him up?

Mosher was 10-10 and ranked #37 by wrestlestat. Hard to believe Mays would boogie on account of him coming in.

Maybe he's competing with Mason Gibson (Cornell to Penn State to ?) for this year's "Most Fickle Committer Award".

Oh, but Gimp, you didn't mention the injury in your initial response to me ... only in your condescending follow-up. So I guess it wasn't so simple after all. But maybe you were feverishly working on a crossword puzzle at about the same time and were distracted.

Re: U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS

May have been wise for him to focus on the Olympics at the expense of the college tournaments as one or two guys on this forum speculated he might do. Wondering if his two losses to Crookham led to a passion for vindication. He's simply not at an Olympic weight. He would have gone 125 if it was eas...

Re: Transfer portal

To HFO,

Mays has only wrestled D1 two years. He was a true freshman starter for Rider, then didn't wrestle a whole lot of bouts as an LU redshirt last season.
