Re: JOHN SMITH retires

Same age as Pat Santoro 58. Smith 100–5 at Sr. Level. Amazing!
He most definitely is a legend and still quite young. Wonder if Okie State will have him doing something within Athletics Department. If not, he will get plenty of appearance fees for media and coaching clinics.

Re: Transfer portal

Best grad transfers still available. Any 2 would be a positive addition to the room and potential to start. The 165ers could go either 165 or 174. We still definitely need an upgrade at 165, 174, 184. Less so at 149 or 157 where it is about a wash in talent level. 149 #27 WS Jaivon Jones Northern I...

Mays has only wrestled D1 two years. He was a true freshman starter for Rider, then didn't wrestle a whole lot of bouts as an LU redshirt last season.
Check yourself. Clearly states he will be entering 3rd year with a 4-4 record. Now he has gone. Case closed.

Re: Transfer portal

Thanks lu_alum. So yes LOI signings run concurrent with early admissions which is the conduit for which virtually all athletes formally become admitted to Lehigh. I asked that question because I think the assumption is that it is always the athlete who reneges on the verbal commitment. I believe th...

Re: One Stop Funding of Lehigh Wrestling options

Very nice primer HFO. Yes, there are certainly a number of options people have to support Lehigh Wrestling and I hope all those who frequent this board choose a method with which they are comfortable and give til it feels good! +100 new members in Lehigh Wrestling Club is an inexpensive Step 1 and ...

Re: Speaking of NIL Collectives

I sniff around and nowhere have I heard a wrestler getting around $200k. The most common NIL are car lease deals and something short of $50,000 from anyone business. I am not hearing anything from anyone at other programs where athletes are stacking multiple contracts with businesses. The money is n...

Re: Transfer portal

Buying a one year grad student can be demoralizing element to the young guys looking to break into the lineup. So unlike many, I think our coaches will & should be very cautious to upset the team atmosphere that exists here by portal shopping. I believe that Mays provides great hope at 165 &...

Re: Transfer portal

If anyone here was privy to the dollars that are involved for these elite 1-year grad students, you would blush. Lehigh doesn't swim in that pool. Offering a graduate program is a pipe dream for someone who is focused on winning a national title. They want a room where they can be challenged and ye...
