Agreed to a point. Most of our team comes from the northeast specifically NJ and Pa. Our best recruiters are assigned to those areas. Pa and Jersey are the Mecca for recruiters at all levels. The competition for qualified players is fierce. There are no FBS or FCS teams in the northeast that can build teams from only this area. Simply put there arent enough qualifying graduating players to fill the need. Hence we all recruit outside the local area. The lanscape has changed substantially from the 90s. CAA expanded. NEC expanded and is a schollie league now. Ivies amped their recruiting.
We have gotten and TomG still gets elite players from Pa and NJ but much of our best talent is from other areas ie Ga,Fl,Mich, etc.
TG came into a program in disarray from the last 2 years due in large part to the failing to Any's failing health. TG has reinvigorated the program quicker than I thought possible. The lack of an OL for over 2/3 of the season and a capable QB doomed the O. Team could have been 7-4 with any semblance of an O that could score. Not bad for a start to rebuild.
