Lehigh Fully Remote

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

They announced decision coming no later than Aug 3. I dont think it looks too hot.

"A Message from Provost Nathan Urban
Dear Members of the Lehigh Community,

I hope you and your families are staying healthy and safe. All of us continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, some more than others, and it appears we will be dealing with this virus for some time to come.

Planning for a safe fall semester has been the work of many at Lehigh for months. However, the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country has made clear that the pandemic continues to evolve, requiring that we monitor and adapt our plans and operations to the changing conditions. Despite these changing conditions, I understand the urgency for communicating details about the upcoming semester and any changes that we anticipate. Therefore we will communicate details of our approach no later than Aug. 3.

We continue to have the utmost confidence that, no matter what challenges the pandemic places before us, we will be able to deliver a true Lehigh experience for our students in the Fall and for the remainder of their time at Lehigh. We thank our entire community for the hard work, patience and understanding through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Nathan Urban

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs"

Wish I could be more optimistic but rising case rates in the LV and Pa generally does not bode well at all :x

Not that it makes much of a difference but the Lehigh Valley appears to be in pretty good shape at the moment. Most of the flareup in PA seems to be in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas. The bigger problem will probably be the significant influx of students from outside the area, predominately California and then containing any spread in a population that is not particularly great at following rules.

Bucknell students are returning to campus on 8/15. Bucknell is providing a saliva test and then a nasal swab test which students must return to campus with negative results prior to returning. Hope it goes well.
Have we prepared for that option? Or any options? Have no doubt that much is being considered but has anything been done?
