Holy Cross

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Holy Cross

Post by RichH » Tue Mar 09, 2021 9:52 pm

Cross favored by a TD.

A close game we lost last year due to our own mistakes.

We come to this game with avlot of questions. OL, QB,CB and depth at LB
According to Matt Markus and the rumor mill, Wilkinson is the starter..
CB returns Bush who started late last year and Neal . 3 frosh are backups.
Haffner and Norris at LB backed by frosh Bell and DiNucci.
Game notes should give us some idea of 1s and 2s.

There is going to be a lot of new faces in the lineup this year. This will be a good time to acclimate them to Lehigh football for the fall.

Agree. We may see a better O along with a more iffy D. Will that get us a couple of Ws??

I think we've both seen that show before with a terrific O and a terrible D. I am counting on TG to use his skills to make this D perform above expectations. What we may lack in experience I think we may make up in athleticism.

The problem is that these remain strange times and I have no idea what to expect.

Yup. Every season my nerves and innate ability to overthink run somewhat amok. 😳🏈
I know what I see on paper. Cant get an overall positive feeling about this team yet.
D should be solid to good mostly but the mistakes seem built in. CB group has virtually no experience. There will be blown coverages..Expected. The fear is the other levels, ie LB and S will try to cover for them which will just cascade the problem. A situation we have seen often before last year.
Ah, hell I'm just depressing myself :D. Enough now.
Gotta hope Wilkinson is worth all the drama.

GAME NOTES are up

Whoa !! Youth will be served. To put it mildly. I would say that there has been a shake up in the 2 deep every where. Guys who started or were on the 2 deep often last year do not appear at all.
Lots to digest.

That we'll be wearing brown uniforms? Other than that who knows. For me the biggest concern is the o line. If they play well, I think we may surprise some people.

agree on the OL as a concern with some optimism that they could be improved from last year, secondary a bit of concern to me, can all those new faces work in harmony and not get burrned

LU put aa virtual Game Program up on cite. Worth a look.

One takeaway is comparing the 2 deeps. Holy Cross is practically all seniors and juniors. Ours is mostly frosh and soph. A telling difference given the similarity in the levl of talent.
