Not really sure where to post this but the early signing period begins on Wednesday for all sports other than football.

As good a place as any. Looking at various dates coming up, I am struck by the fact that Fall semester ends in a couple of weeks.

Both Keith Higgins, Jr. & Tyler Whitney-Sidney are signed and now in the fold. According to verbal commits that will give us four scholarship point guards and three scholarship shooting guards next year.

7 guys for 2 spots is a lotta competition with only 40 minutes per game.

Break out the three guard up tempo playbook!

I'd say 7 guys for 3 spots. Most PL teams, including LU, use three-guard lineups. Over the past decade, I believe there was only one year when LU didn't start three guards:

2013: McCollum (and then Bailey), McKnight, and D'Orazio
2014: McKnight, Price, Schaefer
2015: Ross, Price, Schaefer
2016: Ross, Price, Leufroy
2017: Ross, Price, Leufroy
2018: Ross, Tejada, Leufroy
2019: Cohen, Tejada, Leufroy
2020: Cohen, Fenton, Taylor (who I would classify as a SF by PL standards even if VC and LU list him as a guard)

In CJ's freshman year, btw, Buchberger started along with CJ and Hall.

Very good point on Taylor. I my opinion, the highest upside in last years class. Thank you Salukis!

And speaking of the point, the position seems wide open after Jordan's graduation. This is the time of year for inflated expectations for the incoming class, perhaps the largest (4 scholarships) in recent memory at Lehigh. And certainly the most diverse.

But like everyone, I hope the season happens.

IMO, Sinclair may be the early favorite for the PG assuming that Covid let's him get up to speed quickly. Brett has never been shy about starting freshmen at the PG position. Prior to Cohen, Lehigh had 12 straight years of a PG that started since their freshman year (Hall, McKnight, Ross). I don't see another pure point guard on the team ready to step in.

Brett has always like hybrid players, those 6-5, 6-6 guys who can play both G and F. I'm more fascinated with the F/C position this year. While most of it is still potential, this may be the deepest we've been in quality big men.Lynch and Wilson will likely get the starts but Li, Tan and Parolin all seem to be have the ability to provide quality minutes early. Just my opinion.
