Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

Reason for Optimism

Post by TMH » Sun Dec 06, 2020 3:31 pm

It is now December 6 and looking at the Lehigh athletic calendar, our next athletic event is still listing Men's and Women's basketball on January 2, only 27 days away.

I don't know what the future holds but with the campus being empty right now, it is certainly possible to create a bubble for the limited # of players and coaches on each team. Test as needed and perhaps 2021 will bring us some hoops sooner than later.

Does anyone know if Wolf's sports ban applies to college practices? Unlike HS, colleges right now do have the ability to put together a "bubble" environment. The ban is to be in place until Jan 4 which would include the 1st 2 basketball games for each gender.

Everything I've read on the governor’s order talks about high school sports with no mention of college sports. A small group of college athletes away from home on a campus would seem to be a more easily controlled environment, as opposed to kids mingling in high school, and then going home to the family unit. Don’t know for sure, but it appears its up to the colleges to decide if their sports are played.

And by the way, Lehigh fan cutouts are now available per today's press release at Lehighsports.com. $50 a cutout. You upload the photo, and you will be in Stabler. PLUS, all games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

They would not have made this release if the governor's order affected colleges or if the league wasn't serious about playing.

Politics have no place here. Stick to sports.

Thanks.

His ban does not apply to college or pro sports.
