MLive Player of the Year in the Ann Arbor area.

https://www.mlive.com/highschoolsports/ ... arbor.html

She appears to fit the Sue Troyan prototype of 6 ft guards. 41% from the 3 though stands out for me. Combine that with the incoming class of Kramer and Behar and we may suddenly have an outside game that will keep opponents honest.

Can anyone recall whether we have ever had a WBB player from Michigan before?

Welcome to the family Ella!

After just a few days of practice, Michigan has begun their winter sports season.

Ella Stemmer had a monster game for the Hornets, putting up 31 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and swiping four steals. She outscored the opponents entire team.

Top Ann Arbor-area girls basketball players to watch in 2021
Updated Feb 08, 2021; Posted Feb 08, 2021

Ella Stemmer, Saline, Sr.
The senior and Lehigh signee had the best season of any Ann Arbor player last season.

Stemmer was consistent and helped lead the Hornets to a conference championship, a district title and a spot in the regional final.

The 5-foot-10 guard was named D-1 second team all-state, earned all-conference honors and was selected as the Ann Arbor Player of the Year after.

Stemmer averaged 21 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists, while shooting 49-percent from the field, 41-percent from the 3-point line and 84-percent from the free-throw line a year ago and should be just as good, if not better, as a senior.

As predicted, Ella is getting even better. After opening up with a 31-point performance on Tuesday she followed up with 29 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, two assists in a win over South Lyon East on Saturday.

I watched much of the game on youtube, doing a lot of fast-forwarding but I honestly don't remember her missing more than 1 or 2 shots. She scores from all three levels and has really good rebounding technique. She's gonna be really good here.

So little sports to follow right now so....

Ella Stemmer led Saline with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals in their latest game. Interestingly, she had 23 of her team's 33 points at halftime. It appears they may have held her back in the 2nd half

OK...I'll admit ti, with virtually nothing else to follow during the week, I've become a Saline girl's basketball fan (well not quite)

Tonight, Ella Stemmer put forth another strong performance as she scored a game-high 20 points and hit four 3-pointers. She also pulled down 10 rebounds, had 5 steals and 3 assists against a previously undefeated Bedford team.

A couple of more updates

2/23 22 points , 5 boards, 3 steals (her version of an off day)

2/26 28 pts, 8 boards, 5 steals, 2 assists

Interesting note: our 3 recruits have all led their teams to a combined 31-2 record this year with one of the losses coming to the #1 team in the state, which they later avenged.
