The Sauna

Post by mookie » Sat Nov 16, 2019 5:06 pm

Stabler was at least 85 degrees...not exaggerating. No idea why, but this issue has been going on for years. I will not be attending Easterns unless something is done. Unless you're in shorts and T-Shirts it is simply an awful fan experience.

Laugh if you want but it is beyond ridiculous.

****I agree 100%. I was in section 4, row N with the heat blowing directly from the overhead/front. 85 degrees is an understatement, more like 95. I was literally sweating. How hard is it to not have the heat on for the match? Whoever controlling the heat needs to be fired or at least smacked. Terrible, absolutely Terrible.

in 1988 there was a natural gas shortage. Heating of public buildings was greatly discouraged for several weeks, Gyms were especially to be unheated. So prior to a big match Lehigh put out a warning to dress warmly because Grace was Unheated, I don't remember who the dual was, but it was packed, and with no heat it was still 85F

Glad to see that someone other than me is complaining about the HVAC system at Stabler. The last time I was there was for the 2015 EIWAs and I've told others that I felt like I had a hair dryer blowing in my face for two days.

It wasn't always like that. I can remember my wife and son coming with me to the 2002 EIWAs at Stabler, and I warned them that it would be chilly. Instead we sweated for two days. Stabler's now 40 years old and needs a renovation. It's older now than Grace Hall was when wrestling "permanently" moved to Stabler.

I'll check into this. Where were people sitting? Uppers? Lowers? Sides? End Zone? As I said, I didn't notice it at all on the floor but did when I came in and looked around up above near the concessions.
I also remember it being too cold there at times. I recall them putting up black curtains in the back as there was a cold draft.

Sitting mid 50 yard line. Was with my brother in law who's first words to me were "are you f-ing kidding me" regarding the temp.

I was in the chair back "general" or mid level secton 7. If you have access to the thermostat please turn it down 15 degrees to between 68 and 72. 100's of people will thank you.
