He's entering FOR 21-22. He posted on instagram that he's taking this year off for some hip issues and then coming back for the possibility of wrestling the next year as a grad student which he can't do at an Ivy.
Then he's taking the year off from wrestling but not from school?
That's my take. Some people think that wrestling is a means to an end (like getting a Princeton degree in a timely manner). So he graduates on schedule, and uses his last year of eligibility for a masters degree of some sort.

He's not sure. Just taking the year off from wrestling.

Bottom line: Princeton loses his last year for them and NCAA pts that would have come with it. A major blow.

Bottom Line: One year rentals will become the new norm. Basketball has the one and done as freshmen. Wrestling will be one and done at the end.

Not sure I can find the excerpt offhand but I saw something on the NCAA site that is looking into eliminating that. Possibly from the athlete reps.

There's nothing wrong with someone graduating with eligibility left that wants a graduate degree at a school that offers what they want and can't be found at their current school. In the case of Princeton, they are bound by their BS rules and are losing a good one as a result. The NCAA spoils everything they touch. Leave well enough alone.

For example -- let's use Chris Weiler. If LU tells everyone "be prepared to graduate it 4 years -- and they do -- then what Weiler did fulfilled his obligation. He stayed 4 years and graduated. No one owes anyone anything. Capische?

.... That's a bottom line assessment but it doesn't usually apply to a blue chip whom they recruit hoping for the 5th year. The "be prepared to graduate" is a heads-up "in case the staff decides they "don't need your extra year." For some who deal with injuries and lean toward HEW status with flattened curve on results -- and graduation w/out any more wrestling -- it becomes a 100% mutually agreeable decision.

Will be interesting his objective.
National Champion and extend wrestling through 2024 Olympic cycle
or
Academic? 6 of Top 12 Environmental Eng and Civil Eng offer wrestling. Lehigh unfortunately not one of them. Cornell on both.

And that works because Cornell is in such need of yet another 197-pounder. All they need to do is allow grad students to wrestle.
