I am afraid with the way things are spiking all over, that any kind of season this year is, at best, 50:50. Even if this vaccine is good, it will not be distributable to the general public until Spring. I have my reservations for NCAA's but I am not feeling good about making that trip under current circumstances. What a screwed up year....

I'm less optimistic than I was two months ago. My sense is that the EIWA coaches have already accepted that there won't be any fans in the seats -- means duals can be held in wrestling rooms, not arenas, though. But if we get to the point where the death count is 3000 each day, all bets are off.

Using the Caruso complex would mean a much smaller mat than at Leeman-Turner, Also, possible inferior camera angles.

The good point of having in an empty L-T arena, no need to open the expensive seats so ten years of protection, empty space, around the mat.

Always look on the brighter side of life.

Our mat size detective - on the case for over 30 years.

One year,s when we were in school, they put 4 small mats in Grace for preps. Obviously, only a couple feet from wrestling circle to bleacher, Kid was badly hurt in bout Lou Stern reffed.

Sooner or later someone is going to hit the expensive seats if nothing is done for mitigation.

My HS team often practiced on the stage. Only 2 mat sections.Brick wall on one side, 4 foot drop on the other. saw 2 season ending injuries,

W ould the Center mat at Caruso even be legal?

I can't find the actual size anywhere but a few articles use the term full-size. So I assume 32 feet.

I assume the 32 feet. But the distance to wall(fence?), The two peripheral ones might be better

I never paced it off but I would think 5 feet anyway. They were originally thinking 5 mats in a non-connected Olympic rings fashion. They decided against that because of distances and some because of the roof slope down on the back side.

A bit more complex that what one thinks at first thought. A bigger strategic choice by a Head Coach than just field the best team. Yes, NCAA gives an extra year, but LEHIGH doesn't necessarily give funding for an extra year. So there will be a number on roster looking to graduate this year regardless if there is wrestling and what that might look like. My perspective on long-term strategy is use those persons first. Then see how 2022 plays out.

I am in camp that EIWA is about a week out from canceling the season.

Must be a well-kept secret. I was on the conference call with the coaches on Monday and we're exploring alternative dates and locations for the tournament.
