285 | #5 Jordan Wood vs. Brandon Whitman

Whitman gets first TD and leads 2-1 after one. He takes neutral.

Wood with a TD and strong ride leads 3-2 after two. He takes bottom.

After giving up an initial TD, Jordan wins going away, 8-2.

LEHIGH winning only two bouts against UNC... comes up short 26-6

Time to make dinner... sayonara folks.

Adds an escape, a takedown, a stalling point and a riding time point. Wins 8-2.

Only Lane and Wood with the wins.

Ouch!!

125 - Lane looks good and dangerous, will moveup in rankings, hope he can truly hold 125
133 - Polito, don’t know if Hines or Paetzell can make and hold 133, if not Polito is a gamer and looks tough, nice win against Army, thought he should have beat NC
141- Hines? Paetzell? Paetzell wrestled tough, but he got in deep on a couple shots and just got outhorsed trying to finish
149-Hoffman, not a surprising loss against NC obviously, but hasnt looked like himself in other matches.... dinged? Knee still an issue?
157- No Idea
165- Meyer, love his battle but
174-Logan, been giving up legs and has no top game, looks like lacking confidence in his neutral game suddenly, which has always been his strength.... should have beat NC wrestler
184-No idea
197- Jakobsen, big win then confounding loss
285- Wood a top ten heavyweight , not sure where I see him with all the young gun heavies out there, but a great senior closer

Let's face it so many of the Lehigh kids are outmanned so they have little chance. Recruiting kids with modest high school stats and hoping they somehow magically blossom in "the room" is silly.

A two time NYS large school champ certainly outranks a 2 time Kansas Champ, any division.

I was not able to see any of Lanes Match, And Did not get to Polito's Match until after his TD. So... Ouch.

Tough to watch Meyer get horsed around at 165

Mookie I disagree:

125 Lane
133 Paetzell (guessing Paetzell cant beat Hines for 133 spot but we are better “dual team” this way)
141 Hines
149 Hoffman
157 Humphreys
165 Meyer
174 Logan
184 JT Davis
197 Jakobsen
285 Wood

That lineup to me has a 50/50 chance of beating NC who is #14 in the country in what is a rebuilding type of year for the Engineers... no we arent PSU, Ohio State, Iowa but who is? Any given year we are between top 20 and top 10 dual team with the hope imoh of 3 AA’s.... should we be disappointed with that? Expect and hope for more yes....but disappointed? No....

It would be better if we could have Cruz at 125 also (no offense to Jaret). Humphreys is out.
Paetzell will go 141 if he wins wrestle-offs.
