Last Chance Qualifier entrants

Post by NothingMeaningful » Mon Mar 22, 2021 9:38 am

Cruz and Wood are entered in this weekend's event, streamed on Flo. There may be others LVWC guys with whom I am not familiar.

List of current entries: https://rokfin.com/ranking/1466/Everyon ... -Qualifier

(edited so as to not offend the snowflakes)

(there are also eight current Cornell wrestlers and one still-in-high-school recruit entered, not that anyone here cares)
Hey Meaningless,
Are you sure you didn't alert the Lehigh fans to Cruz and Wood wrestling so as to open the door to rubbing it in that eight Cornell wrestlers and one recruit also happen to be attending?

That's ok, I was just ribbing you. Too bad you're the only Cornell guy in this site.

As the name suggests, it is the last chance for anyone not already qualified to do so for the Olympic Team Trials the following week (yes, that soon!). So, anyone who didn't win NCAAs (like Jordan Wood) and thus qualify, would compete here.

Looking through the list of those entered for the Last Chance, it's going to be a real dog fight to see who places top two & punches their ticket to the OTT.

My impressions.
Lehigh Valley Wrestling Club has too many entrants.
If you finish Top 2, congratulations, you are not likely to finish Top 8 the next week in WTT.

With limited Olympic weightclasses, each is loaded with world-class talent 2-4 deep. Whomever wins will have to be at the top of their game that day. The big one will be Snyder v. J'Den. J'Den looks like he is ready and just too much athlete. USA will have one of their best Olympic Teams ever and may have a shot as best team in Tokyo surpassing Russians and Iranians. Possibly 3-4 Gold Medals, but it is Olympics and crazy stuff happens in scoring with referee, so it could also be 0. At least we no longer have the magic 8 ball.

Gabe Dean is probably the only Last Chance participant with the ability to make a decent run at the OTT.
