As a local coal cracker youth of the 1930s, it is nice to potentially see another local Olympian in wrestling. This will be #4 in Jordan Oliver, Easton, PA if he qualifies the -65kg weightclass. The last was Bobby Weaver who made WTT Finals in 76 (as a high school junior), 80 and 84 Gold Medalist. Before that was incredible run of 1976 Olympic Bronze Medalist Allentown's Stan Dziedzic in a weightclass that included Lee Kemp, Wade Schalles and Carl Adams. The first was Bethlehem High's Gregory Ruth who was Olympic 5th in 1964. Not a local, but spent most of his life in Lehigh Valley, Gerry Leeman, long-time Assistant and Head Coach of Lehigh University. 1948 Silver Medalist from Iowa Teachers College (UNI).

In the pipeline, Sammy Sasso, Nazareth, PA. Bulgaria will not be an easy road for Jordan Oliver. Hoping he gets to Tokyo. He put in the time over 3 cycles for Olympics and finally has his shot.
