#6 Kyle Parco Brignola lost 5-2. Bryant lost 15-0.
#29 Cory Crooks Brignola lost 7-6. Bryant lost 6-3 and 6-4.
Brignola best win #14 John Wiley/Oklahoma 10-4. Worst loss #90. 0-9 Top 20. 31-16 career. 66%/13% bonus
Bryant best win #7 Murin/Iowa 7-5. Worst loss #53. 2-3 Top 20. 18-13 career. 58%/23%
Brignola has more experience. Has the ability to keep matches close. He wins more often. What he lacks is the explosive 4-5 point move to upset Top 20 talent.
Higher probability that Brignola places higher in a tournament than Bryant. Brignola should get the spot for EIWA.

Re: 149
I'm betting that Brignola is the guy. Coaches select the wrestler to be evaluated for AQ components. Brignola's RPI on the last release was #19, his Coaches' Rank was #32. Two guys between #28-#31 lost this weekend. If he moves up two spots in the Coaches' Rank, he earns an AQ for the EIWA...HFO wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 10:37 pm Common opponents

Re: 149
Everyone assumes Brignola will be Lehigh's entry. We should know officially this evening at the EIWA sendoff party at Saucon Valley.
Also, confirmation on who goes @174. Burkhart or Logan.

Seriously?
We have one of the most experienced and technically astute coaching staffs in the country.
There’s a point where it’s not a matter of coaching someone up — rather more the responsibility of the wrestler to execute.
We haven’t seen that yet from Manzona. Max is less explosive but way more consistent.
Since there are only 2 bids at this weight, the opportunity to receive a wild card may only be there with a 3rd place finish. Who has a better chance of that? IMO, it’s Max who has an RPI higher than Manzona.
As for 174 — I suppose to they might bench Logan but I tend to doubt it. At this point, maybe better to let Logan wrestle through his slump and hope for the best.
