Anybody remember story behind how we landed Matt Ruppel from MT in the late 80's? Moving from Deer Lodge (Red Lodge?) to South Bethlehem must have felt like moving to NYC.
This explains the Matt Ruppel story pretty well

There was a time when Lehigh had a major recruiting advantage as one of a very few colleges that had both elite academics and excellent wrestling. We waited too long to really develop that niche and then there was Penn, Cornell, Princeton and later Stanford and more to compete with. Just my opinion.

Deer Lodge. The headquarters of Montana's Correction Facility.
Red Lodge makes inexpensive Breathable Waterproof gear.
Lodge, makes cast Iron Frying pans. When Austin Meys famously famously rolled up a pan, was it a Lodge?

That wasn't cast iron that Meys rolled. I have a couple. They're super thick and super heavy. Hercules himself would have had trouble with one of these.

I kind of assumed it was a thin steel pan, Wrought Iron, even if Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk tried to roll cast iron, it is too brittle.

Cast iron is brittle. Hercules Son of Zeus isn't going to be able to roll it into a crepe. A lot of pans are stainless steel with an aluminum bottom. That's what Meys's pan looked like to me.

Have you ever tried to roll up even a thin frying pan? Austin was a Freshman advisee of mine. The first time we met he told me there was a trick to tearing a phone book in half and he would show me. It's 2024 and I have not yet perfected the "trick", then he said "but the frying pan isn't a trick". "neither is the coke can",

I never said it was
easy! It's just
possible, unlike with a cast iron pan.
The phone book is easi(er). I once tore a St. Louis phone book in half, and that was about three inches thick. First, break the spine. The paper isn't much heavier than tissue paper; once the spine is broken you have something to hold onto.
Tearing the deck of cards looks impossible. Hard to get a grip something that small. I wondered if it was easier leaving them in the box.

Jerry Lucas (Ohio State Basketball) may or may not have been able to rip a phone book in half.
However, he was a savant and could memorize it.
Lucas had an incredible memory, one that helped him recall opponents’ tendencies and set plays. He could also perform an astonishing parlor trick: He could memorize 50 pages of the New York City phone book in one sitting.
