Ir’s been said a million times but to have a referee review his own call is absurd, combine that with being in a packed house and having to reverse your own call going against home crowd in a win/lose decision is not ideal to getting correct call….

Kind of like when a judge gets promoted to an appeal court and reviews his own prior cases.

I think judges are supposed to recuse themselves when that happens. Maybe refs should recuse themselves when guys they've previously coached are on the mat (I know Thad Turner would agree with me).

JDA,

There was one very high profile case in Pa where the trail judge said "Let's fry this...".

When the case reached the first Appeals Court the judge was the trial judge, and one of the central points of the appeal was misconduct by the trial judge.

And of course a lot of members of SCOTUS never recuse themselves.
