The big 10 has PSU, which is a massive team, then only 2 other projected top 10s: Iowa and Michigan. The Big 12 has 3 with Okla St, Iowa St and Mizzou. The EIWA has 2: Cornell and Lehigh, and the ACC has 2: NC State and VA Tech. Pretty decent balance amongst conferences.
The EIWA, according to FLO, has 54 top 33s: [average of 5.4 per weight]
125 = 5
133 = 6*
141 = 5
149 = 2#
157 = 3##
165 = 7
174 = 5**
184 = 6
197 = 7
285 = 8@
* EIWA strongest weight ** 2nd strongest weight (based on AA places)
# EIWA weakest weight ## 2nd weakest weight (based on # of qualifying bids)
@ EIWA deepest weight (based on total number qualifying)
Shift in NCAA Team Power?
Re: Shift in NCAA Team Power?
Right now I count 73 EIWA wrestlers ranked in the Top 33 by at least one of the ranking services or the Coaches' Panel. That's in addition to around 40 more who have been ranked at some point this season, but not currently.
Sounds like a lot to me. So does 54, for that matter.

The 54 was just from the FLO rankings -- and I agree, it is a lot. That's why, IMO, this year's send-off Easterns is gonna be uber competitive.
Re: Shift in NCAA Team Power?
PSU has a chance of shutting out Iowa Friday night. Probably won't happen but it's a very real possibility.
Re: Shift in NCAA Team Power?
PENN STATE remains the one constant, while others "jockey" for position on the leader-board!
The power-lifter,.. the BIG-TEN, no contest, with the afore-mentioned PSU, Iowa, Michigan, and Ohio State. Going out-on-a-limb and predicting it will be the BUCK-EYES to dethrone Cael's squad in a year or two.
