Don't the coaches have enough to do over the next few days?

Surprised they'd open it before the season closing.

Basketball opened yesterday; when the season ends doesn't matter. But yes, I also think it makes sense to wait until the end of the season.

Yeah...would be nice if NCAA did not open portal while NCAA Basketball and NCAA wrestling are going on.
However, they have to give enough time for students to announce, teams to express interest and opportunity for them to apply to the college they want.

Perhaps it is intentionally set up that way, to allow interaction between athletes and coaches while they are all in the same place.

Really now. A more likely explanation is the NCAA is off their rocker.
