Not recent, but Farro beat Lane 9-5 in last year's 125 wrestle-off.

Lane was just a baby. Impressed now with his many weapons and how he uses his length and can score in bunches.

Watching Jaret Lane mat side on Sunday it was refreshing to see someone so excited about the sport. Pre-match preparation, throwing different moves in-match, and post match discussions with coaches. Looks like his ceiling is high. Also would say that although Ruth got taken to the shed period 1 vs Foca, he was more than game in next two periods, including a tough ride out period 3. Never gave up for a second and learned a bunch I suspect. Closing that gap is part of the process.

125: Paetzell
133: Lane
141: Pomrinca
149: Hoffman
157: Humphreys
165: Gallick
174: Kutler
184: Weiler
197: Jacobsen
285: Wood

Looks good to me. I thought we looked better. 1 Champion, but overall more scoring and pressing for backpoints and the fall. Competition in room shows things might be adjusted by EIWA. It is a good team that still has a lot of work ahead. Is every guy R12, no, but every weight is Too 20 attainable. We will be in mix at EIWA and Top 10 at NCAA.

Crap!
Just watched Karam's match: from standing, he caught a right cross to the head and went down.

Did the guy try to bite his ear off? Just wondering.

I didn't see it but a right cross from standing sounds like a headlock. And Joey Z does freestyle (and some greco)

Zargo had Karam's right leg lifted (both standing) with his left arm; Karam had a whizzer in. Both facing the same direction, if you can picture that. Both sorta bent over at the waist, and Zargo's right arm flew across and smacked Karam on the left side of his head. Not sure what Zargo was trying to do with that. But down went Karam.

Did it look to you like the whack on the head with the arm caused the concussion or that it occurred when Karam went down and hit the mat? I was watching Polito on the adjacent mat and recall hearing a really loud thud. Looked over shortly thereafter and Karam was being attended to.
