Lehigh Football

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

Well it will be warm. 🔥🏈🏈🏈

I wonder how this Marlins debacle will impact the future opening of athletics. Baseball is a sport with a relatively limited amount of close contact.

Baseball's problem is that, unlike the other sports, they opted to not play in a bubble. Teams are traveling constantly, checking in and out of various hotels, etc. I imagine many are going out to bars and clubs with no social distancing or masks.

+From my limited knowledge, the only sports that I know that have elected to play in a bubble are the winter sports that are effectively in playoff mode, with a limited # of teams eg the NBA and NHL. For them it is very, very important to maintain that bubble otherwise they become the "proverbial cruise ship" where the viru spreads quickly among the people trapped in their environment. Currently anyone who violates the bubble is being quarantined whether they contacted Covid or not. See Lou Williams e.g

I see very little difference between MLB and the NFL or the entirety of the NCAA in this regard. The latter is probably the most prone to violation. Therefore it will be interesting to me to see how the Marlins situation plays out in the world of athletics. We are only in the 3rd day of the MLB season and 2 games are cancelled to COVID.

Miami has now elected to postpone their season for the time being, cancelling their next 2 series or 7 games.

MLS has played a great tournament in a bubble.

Sadly, I don't know how colleges will be able to keep students healthy this fall unless they go online or the students are way more mature than we were.

You can only pray for them, because some colleges will literally go belly up if they have to forgo $ for lodging.

We could have football. 1. All remote classes
2. Only football players return to campus
3. We dont play any away games
4. We test all visiting teams.
Ah but a minor wrinkle. Unlike apparently a lot of schools the tail (football) does not wag the dog ( College). :D

I hope we can have sports for the kids and us. Just not yet.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few go belly up.
