You guys really don't care about freestyle, do you?

Talk about the champions, or the Top 25 nationally-ranked team!

Not a really big fan of Freestyle, but I enjoyed the coverage of Senior Nationals on Flo this weekend. Not a good tourney for the Lehigh fans, but a lot of very good wrestling. I'll take some wrestling over none.

Hopefully we'll have a season second semester- fingers crossed...

personally though folkstyle is to freestyle as baseball is to cricket.

Just my opinion
Kind of agree.

But I also wonder why Lehigh doesn't have a dedicated Cricket Pitch. South Asians love the sport. Haverford has always had a varsity cricket team, I don't know of any other schools that does such..

I don't believe cafeteria trays qualify as a toboggan.

BTW...I actually attended a cricket match at the Lower Merion Cricket Club in Haverford a few years ago. It was just as confusing as freestyle wrestling so I retreated to watch a croquet match where I at least understood the rules. :-)

I had an office mate from India, Muslim. Her husband was able to figure out the game(Crickets) enough to play most weekends. But he could never figure out that the pepperoni on pizza was pig, not plant

When the Lehigh Valley has a Merion Cricket Club or Philadelphia Cricket Club equivalent, then maybe there will be a Lehigh Cricket field. The bigger issue is when is the HURLING field being installed?

We're already world renowned in that.

Ya' know, I'm late to this discussion but it's both ironic and annoying that a CU fan would make a dig at LU fans for lack of interest in freestyle. Almost certainly because 3-4 Big Red wrestlers have made very recent splashes in freestyle. Give us a break, man ... you want highlights? Try assessing 3 decades, not 3 years:

In 1972 Mike Frick (HS sr) wrestled a Russian in Allentown. In 1976 Frick placed 3rd at Tbilisi (Russia), often considered toughest in the world. In '84 Bobby Weaver was 2nd there, as Darryl Burley was in '85

1978: LU JUNIOR Mark Lieberman WBF in Sr Open finals vs Olympic 2,1 John Peterson to claim top Ann award in Senior Freestyle.

1984: Olympic Gold for Bobby Weaver; 2nd at World

Between 1975-85 Lehigh U hosted int'l freestyle events USA vs Russia, Cuba and a coupla other nations. Retired from wrestling while hosting one event, Mark was a late emergency sub at 213 -- and

Since 2003, the LVAC (now LVWC) has had 4 athletes make U.S.World Teams (McCoy, Mocco, Gavin, Rey; the last two this past decade; the others the decade before)

My database is out of date since 2017 (computer theft) but it shows 267 medals earned by LU athletes and coaches at national HS, college & post-grad events. Just because only Frank Perelli placed at the 2020 Sr Nationals (whom we stole from FLWC 4 yrs ago) doesn't mean we don't care about freestyle.

Darian Cruz (Lehigh's most recent NCAA champion) and Jordan Wood (arguably Lehigh's best current wrestler) don't rate a mention?

It wasn't a dig: it was surprise. Sorry, I haven't been following Lehigh wrestling long enough to know the level of interest in freestyle; certainly not from a decade and longer in the past.

Someone is awfully defensive.
