2012 Patriot League Schedule

Post by grad81 » Tue Dec 22, 2020 3:05 pm

Patriot League to be split into North and South divisions with play starting 3/6 every Saturday until 4/24. PL tournament on 5/7 & 9. No non-conference games during this time span but it appears they can be scheduled outside of those dates. Good news in that it appears there will be a season at least at this point!

South Division is a tough field compared to the North. Hopefully Cassesse can add a few early games before PL sched.

have not followed the recruiting, anyone have insight to FR studs ready to contribute this year? seems we have quality starters at all positions, but not sure about depth

I suppose the short answer to this question is that Lehigh is absolutely loaded with talent this year since the vast bulk of Lehigh's senior class last year decided to stick around. Our attack is really young and talented.

As for the freshmen...Armstrong, Schofield and Cole are the most highly rated but that doesn't always translate into productivity. Only time will tell but I think that they will have this year to learn since there are very few holes in this lineup.

As always just my opinion :-)

Per Coach Cassese, LU will open it’s Patriot League schedule on March 6th vs. Loyola. Over the course of the season they will play all the teams in the PL South (Loyola, Navy, Pards, and Bucknell). They actually will play Bucknell twice. From the North division they will play Army and Colgate but they will not play Holy Cross or BU. They are trying to get regional non-league games for February 20th and 27th. He mentioned they are trying to keep PSU on the schedule but to do so, they must meet Big 10 testing protocols which would cost approximately $20K. So it looks like a 9-10 game regular season assuming they can find some non-league games before the PL tournament.

Looks like the non conference schedule is starting to firm up. Unofficially, LU has lined up UVA on February 20th at Salesianum and NJIT on February 27th at home before starting Patriot League play on March 6th at home vs. Loyola. They are also trying to schedule either Duke on March 20th at Calvert Hall or Cornell at a neutral site. Finally, they will play at Villanova on May 1st. Those are some tough non-conference games! Fingers crossed that things go as planned. Practice starts tomorrow. Expected snow doesn’t help.

If they do indeed open with UVA in less than 3 weeks they are going to need all of the practice they can get. Snow doesn’t help and practicing in the Field House is not the same although better than nothing.

Not sure how many inches they got, bit clearing the field should not be too hard
