During the Governance Strike wrestlers Steve Shields and Dave Waters prevented two drunks from starting breaking things. Which of course been really stupid since the Faculty and Administration were amenable to the discussions. The board and older alumni were a bit of a problem

Ayres took a step up, in strength of Athletic program.

But he may be the only coach to take a step down academically by going to Stanford.

I concur and PA was similar until around 1973, but it did take until 70s to allow any Catholic schools in. Now even a few former Preps have migrated to PIAA like Milton Hershey School and Church Farm School. Would love to see PIAA to go single event for Olympic individual sports. Do you really need...
