Re: Lehigh @ US Open

Skellenger got pinned in his first bout. Van Hoven lost his second bout. Federici won easily twice.

Re: Columbia Head Coach Opening

Really? When you get to that level of excellence, it can hardly be regarded as a step down. The way I always heard it was Stanford out west, Notre Dame in the middle and Harvard back east. Had no idea N.D. was so selective. But without looking it up, I would have guessed U of Chicago for the middle...

Re: Columbia Head Coach Opening

Having a strong wrestling background would be a major asset on the Columbia campus these days.

Re: Transfer portal

The Cornell guys are probably greatly deflated over only having one Big Red going to the Olympics. Probably figured Arujau would be going and maybe Yanni. Lehigh also has one. Lol.

Re: Transfer portal

Go after Kyle Parco at 149/157 or not worth it? Is #3 guy good enough or should we see how the room develops? Parco was a wrestling club teammate of Bailey in California and I believe Bailey's dad was a coach there. I also believe Yozzo was connected to that club/family and that's how Bailey ...

Re: Transfer portal

HFO would like to see Mosher move up from 165 to take 174 and Hale at 184. Mosher was 10-10 at 165. Hale is ranked 32 at 184. I think HFO would agree that young guys generally have more upside than graduates, and it's not uncommon for graduates to actually decline. Wilt has wrestled two seasons and ...

Re: Transfer portal

Schoppe wrestled at 175 as a senior in high school and in his one bout from last season.

I see that he had a high school win over Jack Gelato. That must have been sweet.

Re: Transfer portal

No way, not when it comes to 165-184. Take whatever we can get. A tate samuelson type would only benefit the "culture" because we would not lose winnable duals due to the "gap". Even a Brignola type who will fight tough and hover in the 20s. The need is extreme. Maybe Wilt and S...

Re: Transfer portal

O and HFO, It would have taken another 12 1/2 points at Nationals to move up two spots from 15th to 13th; three points to move up all of one spot. Are your #24-38 portal guys going to score 12 1/2 points? Is it worth it to move up one spot to 14th? Oh, and they're not car salesmen. They're student-a...
