Rafe Perich

Impressive statistics but at AA . Consider that for baseball, they only represents the freshman and sophomore years.

Thanks TMH. I lovecreading anout these kids. Intresting to see how they transition to college ball. Admittedly, I read the ahS info and expect each and every one of them to be stars. :)

Update on Rafe Perich

Per the Morning Call

RAFE PERICH, NORTHWESTERN LEHIGH

Northwestern Lehigh is off to an 8-0 start and the stat sheet is loaded with eye-popping numbers.

Rafe Perich’s numbers might not be as impressive as many of his teammates, but that’s only because the senior is just getting started after coming off an injury that required surgery.

But Perich is back and will make an impact for the Tigers, one of the best teams in the Colonial League.

“Rafe had started every single for us since his first game as a freshman and has been a huge part of our team ever since,” coach Duran Porrino said. “He started for us at shortstop and was a key for us in 2018 when we won a district title and made it to the state semis. Then as a sophomore in 2019, he hit over .500 and led us back to the state playoffs. But he had surgery over the winter and that kept him out of action until Saturday.”

In his return, Perich allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out 10.

The Lehigh recruit, whose father, Josh, was a standout at Northwestern and drafted in the 11th round by the Mets in 1998, also got the win in relief with a scoreless inning against Palisades on Wednesday.
