#22/25 Richmond

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

There is a straight line between the Patriot League straitjacket of roster limits + no redshirting to and 23-24 year olds pushing around 18-20 year old linemen. This will not change until the Patriot League presidents fix this.

Either remove all limits to roster size (so schools can get 120 bodies in camp and walk-on kids and PWOs can earn scholarships) or remove the redshirting restriction so that the top linemen are 23 or 24 year old men. Both together, however, is a recipe for injury and ineffectiveness. Lehigh is a case study right now as to what happens.

You would know this better as a close follower of the program, but based upon Covid extra year and injuries, isn't is possible that Fest, Fornier, and Rosen could all be on Lehigh roster this fall?

Could have been possible for Fest and Fournier but that would only be a bandaid for a much bigger issue with PL restrictions. We are in rebuilding mode now. Choice for staff is a short term 1 yr fix with them as opposed to using that $$ towards frosh for a possible 4 years.

I suppose the simple answer is yes. Rosen graduated in 2019. Since he got hurt in the 1st game that year, he probably would have qualified for a 5th year which would have been spring. This that year didn't count, I is taking a grad year at Youngstown St.

Fest announced in 2020, that he was transferring. He elected , I believe, not to participate in spring. He graduated from Lehigh but is going to grad school at Duquesne.

Fournier played in spring and then graduated in 2021. Since last year didn't count, he is in grad school at LA Tech after turning down an opportunity at Canadian football.

The thing is that grad school is not always a match either academically or financially. I have no idea what their motivation was. Perhaps Chuck does.
