Lafayette

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

MH makes this close to an even game. Call it The Awful Bowl if you want but it IS The Lafayette game and if these kids come back from the depths of hell to win this game then you really have to take your hat off to the players for not rolling over whatever you think of the coaching staff.

November 20, 2021...THAT TIME OF THE MONTH FOR THE PUSSY TO BLEED!! Need to come out with fire in the eyes!

Leotards have some players so despite their recent struggles, they can bite. The freshman QB has looked good for them, they have a decent OL and a good RB, so defense will be tested. Hopefully we get some bodies back on the OL, but I like the way the run game has come around the past few weeks.

It just occurred to me that for over 70% (57 of 80) of the guys on our roster, this will be the 1st real Lehigh-Lafayette game that they get to experience. Only 9 have been to more than one.

This game will mean something for both teams, as you folks have suggested.

I was at the rain fest on Saturday and really loved seeing how the players really show they are having fun. They have climbed out of the dark pit and are finally seeing some sunshine and can also see how their hard work and patience is paying off. I expect them to really want to use #157 as a springboard for next year and finish league play at 3-3.

Laughyette has been struggling and it is questionable what kind of mentality they will bring after having some optimistic expectations a month ago. We can only hope that their self-destructive tendencies continue, as they do have some good athletes. Their freshman QB is no longer a rookie, having played most the season, and he looks poised and has a good arm. We will need to put pressure on him and I expect our DC to dial up some blitzes. Can we hope some imaginative offense.....I do like the fact that we have brought the run game back into relevancy. Hopefully, we get Snyder back at TE, which would help give the WRs more opportunity for open space.

Weather looks good at this point: partly sunny and low to mid 40's at kickoff. Predicting Lehigh, 30-24.

FYI. Game notes and website have 86 on Lehigh roster.

Lafayette has 51 of 86 doing the same.

Lehigh is so much younger.

Hello again LUFan :-)

Thanks for the correction:

For Lehigh it is 57 of 86 or 66% (including Wilkinson) had never played in a real Lehigh-Lafayette game

However Lafayette has 96 players on their roster including 26 seniors (compared to 9 for Lehigh) 53% of their roster had also never played in a real Lafayette game. I believe Lehigh is still much younger but that was not the point of my post.

BTW, that explains why Gilmore said he was going after 18 recruits this year while only losing 9 seniors.

Hopefully you make it to the game this year.
