PL Teams in the Polls

Back-to-back PL champs 2016 and 2017.... but need to get back to relevance in the national FCS scene.

How about we look at some real data/rankings?

Maybe not as bad as some of us might think ...

FCS Total defense:
https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fcs/current/team/22
LU: 83rd of 123 teams: 432 yards per game

FCS Total offense:
https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fcs/current/team/21
LU: 83rd; 302 YPG (hard to believe)

Fordham (1) and Holy Cross (4) are in the top 5, as is Monmouth (5)

Bringing up the rear are Laughayette (last); Colgate and Bucknell (Cecchini continued to have real issues) also are in the bottom six.

Neither is surprising. When a team is down 24-0 in Q2 in game one, then week two vs a weak PL foe, then down 20-0 at the half....you will have a lot of garbage yards and garbage stops.

Cecchini is 23 - 58. Worst coaching record of any current college football coach.

23rd in FCS rushing defense...not bad...fix a couple issues on back end and we may surprise some people.

Sagarin Rating has LEHIGH #243 of 261 Division 1 football teams. I do not anticipate us going up.
Favored only against Bucknell. Possibly season is salvaged for senior players with a win over Lafayette.
There definitely has to be some serious in season adjustments by this Head Coach. Manage the team better. Better play calling. Better overall game discipline. Somehow keep the motivation high for a guy who is a negative motivator.

Princeton #151
Monmouth #179
Fordham #203
Cornell #189
Bucknell #245
Holy Cross #143
Colgate #209
Lafayette #233

We don’t need the head couch to make adjustments. We need to replace the head couch. How much failure do we need to see before we hold the couch accountable for destroying what was once a proud tradition.
