Henrich appears pretty athletic. Can run with a decent arm.

These schools would very well beat lehigh everyday of the week and twice on Sunday....so denigrating them might make you fell better but not for long.

As for running down their academics...there's no point to this in the conversation.

SAT/ACT scores, US News rankings and GPA don't win ballgames and PL championships.

The topic is recruiting winners so we can win...ON THE FIELD.

Afterall isn't that what we've been bitching about these last 3 years?

Three of those programs are traditional bottom feeders in FBS. They are the Georgetown's, Bucknell's, Idaho State's of FBS. Thus, their ability to beat a currently in the dumps FCS Lehigh program is obviously not a reflection of them actually being a better team/program relative to their own existence in FBS. That is not denigrating them rather stating an unfortunate fact. Sadly, Temple is right there with them.

Obviously, Hugh Freeze leaving Liberty makes Lynchburg far less attractive from a potential success standpoint. It makes sense for a recruit would be hesitant to sign up for the Flames right now. Academically, there's enough information out there for individuals/families to decide if the school is right for them.

Given your (our) desire to pursue winners I would be interested to know why FBS schools with little historical pedigree are listed next to this gentleman's name. And another one, Lehigh who has struggled mightily recently and is going through a coaching change. If it was App State, Ohio U, Troy, Miami (OH), Air Force pursuing him I would be more intrigued given the quality of football, academics, or both, at those respective institutions. There's usually a direct correlation between successful programs either identifying or cultivating talent vs traditionally unsuccessful programs inability to either identify or cultivate. With that said, there are clearly instances of outliers turning into "diamonds in the rough".

Academics don't win championships but they should remain a major tool for recruitment/selling the institution. Do you honestly believe it is not important to re-iterate Lehigh's academic credentials to recruits? I personally believe it would be a total failure for Lehigh's recruiters, regardless of sport, to NOT emphasize the institution's academic quality relative to other choices. I think Lehigh, assuming Cahill proves to be the right coach, offers a tremendous student-athlete experience when factoring in academics, facilities, historical success, location, solid community support, strong football alum network, etc.

Some quality football programs on this list, so it only shows that some view the player's potential as being sufficient to take a risk. Recruiting is in no way a science. People so wrapped up in 'data metrics' that they can overlook some of the more important factors, such as maturity, heart, academic ability to handle at the work load and football i.q. No good to be great athlete, if one cannot stay on the field eligibility-wise.

Cahil is a HUGE upgrade in every sense but this roster needs a significant talent upgrade both top end and in depth. He knows this and has wasted no time trying to fix it. This is not a one year turn around but he's going to get us there. Big time recruiter
