Loyola
Re: Loyola
Just got in. Oooff! What happened?
Re: Loyola
Oh, I see. Team, except Lynch and Li, went 6 for 36. Good grief.
Re: Loyola
Reed has run this program straight into the ground. Has done a horrific recruiting job and this is what you get.
Re: Loyola
Lynch with ONE REBOUND? HUGH??? What is going on? Is this from the long layoff? I watched very briefly and saw 3 or 4 missed layups by 3 or 4 different people..... Horrible!
Re: Loyola
Does anyone think his job is in jeopardy. The general perception around the league historically has been that Reed was a good recruiter but a poor coach. But over the last few years his recruiting hasn't been enough to overcome his coaching.
Re: Loyola
A bit unfair to go off the deep end based on this year’s extraordinary circumstances. But even discarding our play this year, I think the recruiting is fine. But over the years how many kids have come to Lehigh and gotten better? I’m not qualified to answer that question. But my unqualified opinion is, not very many. If that’s true, that’s a bigger problem than game management.
From every voice I’ve heard, coach Reed is a great representative of the university. And a great guy. My hope is he would get promoted to some sort of A.D. position and we look for another very young “up and comer”. Think Fran McCaffery.....
Meanwhile, let’s hope for the best tonight at 6 in beautiful north Baltimore......

I wasn't thinking so much of this year. But some other things might give food for thought. Last year an 11-21 record. No regular season championships or co-championships since 2010, despite some very talented rosters. No tournament championships since 2012, despite some very talented rosters. As for game management, I think BR might be the league's worst. For example, there were two egregious coaching errors in the final 30 seconds of the first LU-Bucknell game when LU still had a chance to win.
I also think he's a good rep of the university, so maybe some AD job might make sense.
Re: Loyola
IT would be nice to have another AD who is a PHD. Dean of athletics sounds nice. But as to when Joe retires, and if Brett would have the ability to do the job?????????
Re: Loyola
Doc has underacieved given the talent he has brought to LU. At best a mediocre game coach. All that said he has done a great job with the young men who have passed thru his system. He is a good recruiter and a very good spokesman for Lehigh. Not so sure his demeanor is all that suitable for an AD.
