Tommy Conniff, Oratory

Young team returns in 2018-2019 with tons of promise. Can they get back to the NCAA Tournament?

Thanks for the link.

You can never have enough 6-11 kids esp without having to give up a scholarship.

I understand that it was a hi-lite tape but I thought this young man has a lot of skill sets. His outside shot was smooth, good form. He's not afraid of contact in the paint.

I want to watch his progress in his senior year. Perhaps a diamond in the rough.

AS a PWO, he obviously cannot get any of the 13 merit scholarships. Can he get standard financial aid? or does his family need to pay every cent. (I thought of guys with ROTC scholarships, but I imagine they don't happen for guys 6' 11"

My understanding although perhaps not a 100% correct is that any other financial aid is available to his family as long as he meets the same criteria as the rest of the students.

I was wondering if wrestling changed in the order the aid was applied. The wrestling scholarship may have been applied first and then need calculated afterwards. Now perhaps, a Lehigh recruit can apply for need based aid first and then supplement it with the wrestling scholarship. That would free up a lot more of the 9.9 aid. That's just a conjecture on my part.

Aid for wrestling will now be computed the same as other partial schollie sports. Fortunately wresting is not a PL sport.so its only cap is per the NCAA.

Thanks Rich but can you tell me how aid for other partial scholarship sports are calculated and how that has changed?

I wonder if this too will help move the needle with the Patriot League since this NCAA change (whatever it is) is apparently new this year.

Does he really look 6-11? I liked the highlights.
