5 in a Row!
Re: 5 in a Row!
I attended the game at Loyola tonight. After getting dominated on the boards early, the Mountain Hawks did an excellent job holding their own rebounding-wise against the bigger Greyhounds for the last 30-35 minutes of the game. Lehigh also appeared to make the conscious decision to play more aggressively at the offensive end early in the 2nd half, which paid dividends by allowing them to get to the foul line quite a bit more than the hosts (24 to 15 attempts advantage). And the Brown & White capitalized on those free throw attempts by shooting a spectacular 22 of 24 from the charity stripe, which included 4 big free throws by Keith Higgins in the last 20 seconds when Lehigh led by 2 points both times he went to the line.
That was an excellent win for the Mountain Hawks on the road in front of a hostile and enthusiastic crowd. (The only negative was the total lack of a semi-effective big man the entire game.) This season is reminding me of last season when Lehigh was not good in the non-conference portion of the schedule but picked things up once PL play began.

I also attended making the drive down from Allentown. Chip has a great recap above. The only thing I’ll add is, we had 15 turnovers. Fortunately The Greyhounds had 20. We made things tough on ourselves again getting out of control from time to time. All in all though an impressive win against a very tall opponent, in a loud hostile environment.
Next up: The Speckled One’s, 7pm Saturday at Stabler. See ya’ll then!
