Re: Lehigh 70 GW 57
Great game. Again missing 2 starters. Hopefully, I'll find out their status in a couple of weeks.
Some information:
This game was played without fans. Just saying, get ready. Post Christmas break may be a game changer.
Kenzie Kramer again outstanding. 31 points with 10 of 16 from the field including 7 of 10 from beyond the arc. Along with Frannie Hottinger, she put in a lot of time over the summer adjusting to the new 3 point line and it's showing. She is now at 44% for the season. BTW, Kramer shot 90% from the FT in her senior year in HS, 94.5% last year. She is only at 68% this year.
Emma Grothaus had 12 points and 20 rebounds.
Amma Harvey, filling in admirably for Clair Steele had 6 assists and only 1 TO.
The remaining 3 starters from opening day outscored the entire GW team. We didn't get much from the bench this time.
9 days until their next game. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and we get some of our walking wounded back.

Re: Lehigh 70 GW 57
This team's three losses are to Seton Hall, Villanova and Missouri. There are few teams (if any) of that caliber in the PL. Here's hoping the missing starters will be back soon.
Re: Lehigh 70 GW 57
The fly in the ointment will likely be Bucknell who is 9-2 and ranked ahead of Lehigh in the mid-major polls. Their two losses are to Ohio St and Temple.Hawktalker wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 1:45 pm This team's three losses are to Seton Hall, Villanova and Missouri. IMO, and Bison will probably disagree, at full strength Lehigh has more overall talent. Bucknell however is really well coached and typically displays greater discipline.

I agree with you that Lehigh has more talent this year. Woodruffs first recruiting class, when he was just figuring out the D1 landscape, was not very good and has affected the roster. However his next class, who are the current freshmen, was very good. And he has already landed six players for the classes of 2022 and 2023 who look even better. They could be really strong in a few years. I do think that Woodruff is the best coach in the league - as far as the systems he runs, the defense, and in-game adjustments - and that will make a difference. As you pointed out, Bucknell is the top ranked team in the league right now, despite having only one returning starter. Had a nice win a few days ago, beating top 60 Buffalo by double digits. That is the best win for a PL team by a fair amount. George Washington, BTW, is ranked number 164 (Massey). Here is how the entire league ranks at the moment:
109 Bucknell
139 Lehigh
176 American Univ
198 Boston Univ
214 Holy Cross
247 Army
276 Lafayette
302 Navy
308 Loyola MD
326 Colgate
