Re: Binghamton Dual
It seems like just 2 weeks ago, Jake was almost cast as HEW. I kind of think he just starts the season a little slow?Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 9:29 pm Mitch Polito and Hines the stars of the dual.... a huge 6 points....well done by both of them....and JT Davis just losing a four pointer.... huge....

Re: Binghamton Dual
Sammy Deprez is not his brother (brothers?).... he to me is a solid 184 lber but not a D1 197 lber.... honestly I was hoping for a pin from Jake in that match but Sammy looked like he was coached to avoid the cradle at all costs...Jake did the best he could with what he was given....
Was pretty comfortable we had it in the bag when we got to 197 only down 7....

Re: Binghamton Dual
The 285 was listed as a 184 also. Not sure what he weighed this afternoon.

Re: Binghamton Dual
Yeah he’s a Buffalo kid.... from Iroquois High.... he looked a lot heavier than 184 but he was out of his league with Wood....when he tried that modified fireman in first period and Wood just basically crushed/collapsed him....it was over right there...
By the way Darian Cruz 1-0 as a D1 head coach.....

Dinging his knee one minute into the season at the same time as a death in the family has a way of doing that ....Richb-3 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 10:02 pmIt seems like just 2 weeks ago, Jake was almost cast as HEW. Were there any "Extra" bouts?
Was very happy to see the team rise to the occasion and overall look very good. Yes, Hines and Polito the stars to my eyes- and of course Wood with the big fall. Did someone say that kid was listed as 184? He looked like a very solid 220# or so to my eyes.

Re: Binghamton Dual
I thought that Frinzi was equally as impressive in his debut. He showed excellent balance & defense with some explosive offense as well. Granted the kid he wrestled has a losing record in college but is a junior with experience & was a NY state finalist in high school.
Frinzi was a late bloomer at BC & shows nice upside potential in my book & really nice surprise. Great to have another local kid in lineup. 157 looks wide open considering Burkhart great performance against Cerniglia.
Lawrence simply looks undersized at this point for 165.
Hines was very impressive & nice to hear he actually weighed in at 133.

Re: Binghamton Dual
Hope Lawrence can hang in there and develop in D1 without totally losing confidence. He lost to a very good true freshman from Massachusetts. New England wrestling is not quite as bad as PA-NY-NJ fans think it is.
