LU posts for asst wrestrling coach

Post by Oracle » Fri May 07, 2021 3:29 pm

On Tuesday 5/4, Lehigh University posted a job opening for Assistant Wrestling Coach. The release had an absurd list of disclosures and disclaimers proving just how PC LU has become. Compare to SD State who made their posting a mere 2 short paragraphs.

The question is: who is being replaced? Can't imagine a 4th F/T assistant. Dillon, Rey, Cruz on staff, is that correct?

Thought four total coaches is the max. Cruz was volunteer assistant so if they're advertising for an assistant I would think that Dillon or Rey is leaving.

Never know but I think Cruz came in to coach more as a favor to the team when Hughes left. Also, if he's ok financially doing the club/RTC/training it could be beneficial to bring in an "outsider". Cruz can still practice with the team as much as he wants until 2024 which a non-alum coach 8 or so years out of graduation couldn't do.

Instead of another ex wrestler stopping by for 3 - 5 years while he figures out what to do with his life they should recast that resource and appoint a full time recruiting coordinator.

Then either full-time coach would have to be replaced as volunteers can't recruit. Unless you mean as a non-coach.

Also, it's entirely possible they simply need to formally post Darian's spot and he takes it anyway.

Three paid coaches and an assistant is the limit.

Adding a women's team?

Again, I think Mookie might have been suggesting hiring a recruiting coordinator which could be outside the coaches in similar fashion to what I call the DoWops (Director Of Wrestling OPerationS) as long as he doesn't do anything that looks like coaching.

Women's team? I can't imagine that for this year. They couldn't even put together a club team yet.

The site I found says that this was posted 12 days ago. Definitely not for a volunteer assistant.

Don't sweat it MH - you're too old for the job.

Actually, most of it isn't "woke-ass horseshit", it's the damned lawyers complicating everything.
