Mine had diplomatic immunity and used to go on alcohol runs every Friday for all us freshman. In my mind, I win.

A good theory, but Gimp Doesn't drink alcohol.

Newbury was the first Person to get a 4.0 at Lehigh. over 200 credits, degree in metallurgy including most of the 400 level, Grad only (normally) courses.

I don't remember the guy's name, but it must have been Newbury. One day when I was an undergrad a few of us were in the department office talking with Prof. Ken Tarby and the subject of GPAs came up. The department secretary mentioned a name and Dr. Tarby hmmphed and then said "Well, the only knock on him was that he never improved any!" Marge pulled a card out of a file cabinet and showed it to us -- the fellow, several years ahead of us, had graduated with straight A's.

I don't know if the recruiting office stuck those famous notes (about Lehigh's strict grading) in his job applications.

btw, whiz, you really oughta' learn common sense online etiquette by avoiding use of "mental illness" when struggling to keep up with routine social media confrontations. At least you didn't call Gimp an 'asshole' like you once did with me during a completely innocuous back-and-forth (a show of hands among posters who believe the response will be "I never accused him of being mentally ill"). Heaven help us if we all resort to lawyering up

IIRC, was a Senior my freshman year so graduated '69.

Was Troy Minarovic the closest of wrestlers? (At least relatively recent ones). Ruppel had a 4.0 the semester he won.

Manny Schubert, pre-med. I published in LUWN the story of his 1st-ever non-A ....can't recall if it was a A minus or B minus but he was really ticked.

Not ticked about publishing it; he was happy to be interviewed for the story, just ticked he screwed up. A cool dude, one of our many late bloomers
