I got to Will Call; who's standing right next to me? Introduced myself to Saddridinov; probably 5'10" maybe, shook hands with his trademark grin; really cool kid

Best to add Santoro, who developed Hamlin from VT scratch (0-2 1st ncaa r-fr); also Cruz' stunning upsets of Gilman + finals; Rey went Rd12 to ncaa 3,1,2 and as asst trained personally with Bernholz, Esposito, Ayres, Doto, Vitale, Dufresne, Van Doren all A/A after tot of 2 hs 1sts. Add Kennedy, Hatchett, Wessell as surprise A/A; medals incl 1,1,2,2,2,2,3 among others. Nate Brown was also a surprise 2nd. Half of these as head; half as asst.

Lots to follow this weekend:

Gonzalez at Donegal Holiday Tournament @ 160
Dubler at Panther Holiday Classic @ 160
Repos at Beast of the East @ 144
Mack at King of the Mountain @ 127
Ziegler at X-Calibur @ 127
Onello at X-Calibur @ 172
Sadriddinov at Beast of the East @ 165
Kunstek at King of the Mountain @ 160
Stanich at Dover Holiday Tournament @ 132

Note that Kunstek is off to a 7-0 start. Pretty healthy schedule for Pottsville.

Wadle also kicked things off this week with a pin.

At Beast of the East:

Repos - 7 seed at 144

Sadriddinov - 3 seed at 165

If Sadiddinov makes his way to semis he would most likely face the 2 seed Holden Garcia who is a PA state champ from ND-Green Pond and Princeton commit….

At King of the Mountain:

3 seed Mack into qf’s at 127

1 seed Kunstek into qf’s at 160

Interesting in that Repos is raked like 2nd in Pa AAA and that Sadriddinov is ranked about 7th. Implying 144 is a very deep weight.

I do not like that some states use a 144 weight class. PIAA records bck tio 1938 show there has alway been a 145 class.

King of the Mountain:

Mack loses qf match 9-7

Kunstek plays catch and release to go up 18-8 then pins his opponent in 2nd period, on to semi's

Beast of the East

Repos wins first match 16-0

Sadriddinov has bye

Luke Stanich had a bye into the semi-final rnd and won by fall in the second period.
There is only 7 wrestlers in the 132 lbs bracket.

The Dover Holiday tournament was in their heyday in the 60's thru the 70's and off in on through-out the rest of the time... mostly down now (lower wt classes may only have 3 or 4 wrestlers in the brackets at some years... not the tournament like it used to be.)

9 team participating, but not all carrying full lineups.
Everyone gets to wrestle at least twice (double elimination) Losing wrestlers prior to the semis, get to wrestle for 5th... semi losers wrestle for 3rd.
Oh, one more thing... Roxbury is ahead. ;)
