Re: LU Lower Weights 21-22
165-197, sure seems like throwing darts at a board.....agree would be interesting to see how they decided those weights.....the others I pretty much would have guessed if I was forced to ...... you can throw McGonagle or MB4 in there somewhere too but a lot of that depends on Paetzell and Hoffman's health....
Re: LU Lower Weights 21-22
IMO wrestlestats does a fine job but they really have no idea what our lineup will look like next. I don't think the coaches do.
We have no idea where Paetzell will fit into the lineup or even if it will be the same Brandon Paetzell. Remember his real success was at 125 and he hasn't really wrestled much in over a year. I don't even know if Jaret knows whether 125 is doable again next year. Ditto for Malyke at 133. I think a full year of development will make Bryant awfully tough to beat at 149 next year assuming he makes that weight. I think that a healthy Thayne Lawrence with a year in the room will dominate 165 but who knows. Caden Wright hasn't wrestled under 182 since his junior year in HS. Logan doesn't appear to me to have the build for 184 but haven't seen him in awhile.
184 and 197 will come down to who wants it more. Davis impressed me for a kid coming out of Delaware without any summer or fall real practices. but Wright could challenge. Unless there is a transfer 197 will likely not get us any points.
IMO Humphreys and Wood are the only 2 givens but the potential is there for more.

All right so you have to guess a lineup for next year, one guy at each weight, no hedging.....god willing (Denny) and 9.9 willing (Spladle) who to you stake your house on (or at least the shed behind your house or your hobbit hole whatever)....
I'll throw my best guess out there, cause why not:
125 Lane
133 Paetzell
141 Hines
149 MB4
157 Humphreys
165 Lawrence
174 Logan
184 Davis
197 Grape
285 Wood
Notice no hedging, no unless, and no but's........

Thinking along the same lines but maybe Jones will get down to 197 and crush Grape.Spladle1989 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 1:06 pm All right so you have to guess a lineup for next year, one guy at each weight, no hedging.....god willing (Denny) and 9.9 willing (Spladle) who to you stake your house on (or at least the shed behind your house or your hobbit hole whatever)....

Re: LU Lower Weights 21-22
so you're saying Grape is gone......no problem, I was not aware......but notice I did not hedge even though I was not aware of his return or not........
Correction you have him listed at 184.....I still will not hedge and go with what I listed.....because that was the game......besides he's changed weights more times than Kyle Dake
Also you have Brignola listed in there and not Wilt at let's say... 197
besides I'm not asking for depth I'm asking for one guy at each weight, best guess as previously said....no hedging with others......

Re: LU Lower Weights 21-22
My lineup is very, very close to Spladle's although I wish I were as optimistic about Lane being able to stay at 125. It would not be a total shock, to me, at least, is Seymour ends up there almost by default. Speaking of by default, Wilt may end up manning 197 which is the reason I have been anxious to see how he does in the NJ tournament. If that extra 35# is all muscle and he feels comfortable there, his long term potential may be on the rise.

Simply a matter of gmta.

Thinking along the same lines, but in this way too early prediction, I'll go bold with transfer at 197. Who?
