Yep, with very little tolerance for ignorance…. Kind of a Napolean thing…

**** I sense a Grudge Match in the making. Mookie (Dave is still in pretty good shape), Spladle, don't know much about him. He may be younger but Mookie has a lot of aliases, which if he can put them all together, could make one tough hombre.

Since I'm younger I'll take the many faces of Mookie and Denny in a round robin format.....probably giving up a lot of weight and length though.....probably better suited for freestyle type round robin versus folkstyle......

I had a really nice conversation with Jacobson on this topic. Jake who is on the tall, lankier side wrestled my nephew in High School. When he saw my name tag, he brought up the bout in conversation. My nephew was about
5-5 but as strong as an ox. Jake said he had a really hard time getting in on the legs since there wasn't much of a target and his leg strength. When they got on the mat, it was a different story though and Jake won 1-0 by using his long frame to wrap my nephew up.

The moral, I suppose is that there are advantages and disadvantages to body type. The key is to maximize your strength and minimize your opponent's. I assume that applies everywhere though.

Really good news. This was a guy LU wanted badly coming out of hs. Great credentials from the strongest wrestling state. What's not to like? My only question is: why play football? :)

Because Garcia is a hard ass who loves to hit. A few Lehigh wrestlers were known to be total pussies who shied away from contact playing football in high school.

This has nothing to do with wrestling, football, cage matches, Lehigh, or Gaige Garcia (and it's Jakobsen!), but the Yankees turned their second triple play of the season a little while ago, against Toronto in Buffalo (a Covid story). Odd thing is that it was the first 1-3-6-2-5-6 triple play in major league history (requires two dumb baserunning tricks simultaneously). Just in case you ever think there's nothing new under the sun.

Actually, I think Bichette was in a no-win situation. If he'd stayed on second through all of that he'd be criticized afterwards for not moving up to third during all the chaos. I only saw one close-up replay, but from that view I'd have called him safe at third. The architect of the play was Semien, who so far has escaped criticism.

Just a reminder that baseball is a game of set plays, and on the rare occasion when a broken play occurs some of the players freak out. Aaron Judge tagged a guy out at second base a couple of years ago when something like that happened. Some guys keep their heads (Pete Rose, Derek Jeter are two great examples), some guys go blank.
