Practice, man

Post by Oracle » Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:29 am

"We talkin about practice man....not a game....we talkin about practice."

Why do the total number competition dates matter? Because they are directly related to cutting weight for a dual with virtually no recovery time. In addition, the athletes are more prone to extend positions which cause injury in order to win the bout. After all, it's not practice, man.

Ergo, more competition dates equate to more injuries. IMO.

Only six home duals is pitiful. Lehigh wrestling fans lives matter!

Has a final schedule been released or are you basing this on the preliminary/tentative/maybe version that Denny offered at the beginning of this thread?

I can't believe, at this point in time, that no one else thinks it is a bad idea to have the Pitt Match in Grace at the same time as Lehi-Laf in Goodman.

Maybe this will make it easier to park near Grace Hall. Or near Goodman.

The schedule is tentative. I figure this is one of the things that changes.

I do -- dumb, too.

Friday night or late Sunday morning would be ideal.

"5-6 PM after the game in Stabler works too".

That time may work time-wise to not conflict with the football game, but can you imagine the Pitt Dual at Stabler with 750 fans in attendance,(an echo chamber and not good optics). Pitt is just not as large a draw as other matches hosted there (PSU, Iowa, OK St). Yes Pitt will be good this year but I do not see a really large crowd, especially since many Lehigh Alum may skip the dual because a full day (football then wrestling) will be just too much. I could see using Grace for the dual at that time, since it is much smaller and if the crowd is smaller than usual, it will not look/seem that light. Stabler should be reserved for the BIG matches and the EIWAs. Just a thought.
