Caden Rogers
Re: Caden Rogers
A few years ago I was doing some early '60s research and came across an article in the Brown & White archives. There was an account of one of our wrestlers being injured that went into every gory detail, including anticipated recovery time. The story was so graphic that I felt slightly nauseated, reading it nearly 60 years later. No need for all that.
I understand the need to protect wrestlers' privacy and all. But if a program wants support from its fans, it's going to need to find a way to release some information as to why an athlete isn't competing. I don't need to know all the blood and guts details, but "Wrestler A injured Body Part B and is expected to miss C weeks/months" wouldn't intrude all that much.

If you are referring to Humphreys, all of that was pretty well known. He had a knee injury that was being rehabbedOracle wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 11:09 am Yes, I know the company line.....not asking for 'exact nature' rather "XXX has a knee injury that will be rehabbed during the off-season. The example you give for Zach Rey just prior to a major competition is not relevant and not the issue. Trenge's condition, also, is an extreme unique case.
BTW, fans most definitely need to know -- that's why they're fans!
If XXX rehabbed an injured knee during the off season, would it matter if an opponent knew? As soon as they see a brace, they are aware. If no brace or wrap, then get after it.
last season and so would be using his redshirt. I'm actually surprised you didn't know that.
JT Davis was also injured (knee) and was pulled from competition. Lawrence wasn't comfortable with his quick rehab in his senior year and underwent additional treatment to be 100% for this season.
I hope this information makes your day better.
IMO, Trenge and Rey are not irrelevant nor unique. As a former wrestler, you should be aware that wrestling is a personal battle. Every wrestler is looking for an edge and more than willing to take advantage of it. Why give them that edge if you don't have to?
Everyone is different, I suppose. I too am a fan. If someone is not wrestling, all I'm expecting to know is whether they are injured and their expected return (long term/short term).
Re: Caden Rogers
I hear what you're saying.

I don't think we got even that with Lawrence, and I follow this board very closely.

Who is Stout?
Re: Caden Rogers
I'm fairly certain I mentioned or at least alluded to it a couple of times earlier. The thing about injuries is that there is the physical rehabilitation and then the psychological barrier of "letting it fly" sometimes. I think fans will be really surprised how good he is when healthy....this fall.
