Long overdue. McCoy has his work cut out for him.

>>>Long overdue. McCoy has his work cut out for him.

Zero need to overstate 'due.' For those who've invested the biggest stakes in LVWC -- donors, plus the guy who hired him (Pat Santoro) -- Jeff did a helluva job, including helping Zach Rey make a World Team, Darian a National Team, Joey Lavallee a surprise 2nd at the U.S. Open and McKenna a big surprise alternate Olympic Team berth after beating Retherford. Those last two happened in the last 6 mo and wouldn't agree with you about 'overdue.'

Every coach of a RTC has his work cut out for him. It's always challenging, always fleeting with lots of guys nationally passing through in 1-2 yrs. And I hear Kerry's approaching a return to his first college weight.

Agree with Denny. Not at all necessary to take any shots at an outgoing guy who was well-respected.

Some folks feel the need to tear others down in order to feel better...go figure.

These six will be among many who'll respect Buxton well after his passing from this Good Earth, or the one which preceded anonymous Internet snipers:

Eventual NCAA Champs - 12 titles; 20 TOP 3's

Pat Santoro: Pittsburgh, 6,2,1,1
Steve Mocco, Iowa & Okla St, 1,2,1,1
Mark Perry, Iowa,  2,3,1,1
Kellan Russell, Michigan, 7,1,1
Zack Esposito, Okla St, 2,1,3
Ed Ruth, Penn State  3,1,1,1

Snipes will come from those who say Bux recruited - and in his prime landed some of the nation's top recruits, like Mocco. But most here know that Pat's high PA finish as senior was 3rd for Becahi. Within 1 yr under Buxton, Pat became Nat Prep OW, then 6,2,1,1 w/out a r/s; Pitt's only 4x AA; 1 of their 3 best ever.

Ed Ruth arrived at Blair as a HS sr, with highest places of 5,4. Within 1 yr under Bux became the best HS wrestler in the nation, then 1 of the 5 best ever at PSU. Buxton also coached McKenna to beat 1 of PSU's 5 best ever - in an ultimate lifetime bout.

W hen you put your name on a resume like that, in real flesh & blood, nobody really cares hwhat an anonymous "person says
