..... or he's decided to drop LU.LUEngineer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:09 pm Garcia did not play today so perhaps my prediction of him dropping football to concentrate on Wrestling actually occurred this week?
If I had to be part of that offense, I would certainly think about going to wrestling practice instead of enduring that frustration.
Football looked good

Re: Football looked good
He tweeted Thursday that he was going to Arby's and called himself a running back so I doubt he quit football.
Re: Football looked good
Risking injury for this football team when you want to have a wrestling career at a competitive school makes zero sense. I pray for his sake and the wrestling team he drops football. It’s not like it’s going to impact us on the gridiron. What will happen?

Re: Football looked good
Monies-I already posted that he did not play which started this whole thread about him perhaps seeing the light that wrestling is his future at Lehigh!!
Wrestling remains Lehigh’s premiere sport & football decline over the past decade solidifies that position. When a dual meet at PPL center outdrew every non Lafayette football attendance at Goodman it reinforced that.
Now we need to get back into the Top 10 in wrestling or we will lose our fans like football.

Well said. I’d love to hear some thoughts from members about how we can strengthen the program over the long term.
Like football, I think we (and other schools) need to revisit its limitations on scholarships, etc. but I don’t know if recruiting is really our issue or if it’s related to other items.

Let's compare apples to apples. Throw PSU in a game at Goodman and compare attendence. We aren't outdrawing football for random conference games/matches.LUEngineer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 9:07 am

That being said, the Gilmore version of Lehigh Football may start getting outdrawn by IM softball.

Agree. Actually however if you looked at the Goodman stadium stands in 2019 you wouldn’t see many more fans than at a wrestling match if you took the band away.
Never mind what attendance they published but with the exception of parents weekend & Lafayette it was pathetic.
Not quite as bad as women’s softball yet but your point is valid.
