I was thinking GW as well. Must be something to it.

Lawrence also loses in condos.

And Bailey wins 1-0 for the title.

Looks like he's already seen as a tough kid on top. Down 0-1 and with choice in the 3rd, Curry chose neutral but it didn't work out for him.

Taylor was pinned in the 3/4 match. He's going to be a very good heavyweight for Lehigh. Still a little bit of a Baby Huey but with time he'll win a lot of matches.

At 165 Herzeg is a FAR better prospect than Lawrence. Herzeg is a full sized 165 , rugged and a very competitive guy. Guessing he'll be the starter this year and ongoing. He took 3rd while Penn State's prize recruit A. Facundo was 5th.

Edmond Ruth won the title at 184. Hoping he makes it back 2nd semester and takes over 184 for Lehigh.

Bailey looks like he's 12 years old but has some chops.

>>>>> Agree. Taylor's so raw but huge and can move reasonably well. Once he hardens up from the weight room, he'll be a load.

Carter Bailey is legit. He beat 3 decent kids -- 2 were veteran seniors who have placed multiple times at EIWAs. To give perspective: he was "only" CA 5th last year, so that tells you how tough CA is. Bailey can wrestle and is rarely out of position. And he's a finisher. I imagine he already gives Lane all he can handle.

I watched Edmond Ruth's bouts and while he did enough to win, he didn't exactly look all that good and he was visibly gassed early in each bout --- I imagine this lack of conditioning is due to working out away from a D1 room. Not a true 184 IMO......would be a beast at 174 and maybe where he'll end up once he gets into shape.

I didn't think California had an individual tournament last year, but I could be wrong. I believe he finished 5th in 2020. I know, the Lehigh says otherwise. :-)

Stunned by this. Curry is in his sixth year, took 4th twice and 3rd twice at EIWAs at 125 (and think about some of those who finished ahead of him) and has been ranked in the NCAA's top 10. Bailey looks like a skinny little kid who got lost on his way to the arcade.

I thought CA held a tournament in June 2021, but you are correct about Bailey:
